Privacy policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information.

Last updated: October 2026

Who we are

This website is run by iJen-IT (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the personal information we collect through this website. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email support@ijen-it.com or call 01704 320 007.

What information we collect

When you use our contact form, email or phone us, we collect the information you give us. This is usually:

  • your name, company name, email address and phone number
  • the service you’re interested in and the details of your enquiry

Like most websites, our web server also keeps basic technical logs, such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages visited. We use these only to keep the website secure and working properly.

How we use your information

  • To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote or advice
  • To provide our services if you become a client
  • To keep our website and systems secure
  • To meet our legal and accounting obligations

We will not use your information for marketing without your permission, and we never sell or rent your information to anyone.

Our legal basis

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we use your information because:

  • you have asked us to contact you or to take steps before entering a contract (contract)
  • it is in our legitimate interests to respond to business enquiries and keep our website secure (legitimate interests)
  • we have to keep certain records by law (legal obligation)

Who we share it with

We only share your information when we need to, with trusted providers who help us run our business — for example our email and hosting providers. They may only use it to provide their service to us and must keep it secure. We may also share information if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to 2 years, unless you become a client. Client records are kept for as long as you are a client and then for up to 6 years for legal and accounting reasons.

How we protect it

We are an IT security business, and we protect your information the way we protect our clients’: secure systems, access only for staff who need it, encryption and regular backups.

Cookies and third-party content

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Some pages include content from other services:

  • Google Fonts — used to display our text. Your browser connects to Google to load the fonts.
  • YouTube — our videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which doesn’t set cookies until you play a video.

These services have their own privacy policies.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct anything that’s wrong
  • ask us to delete your information
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
  • ask us to transfer it to another organisation

To use any of these rights, email support@ijen-it.com. We will reply within one month.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please talk to us first and we’ll put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
